Ravenshoe is the highest town in Queensland at 920m which means you can really enjoy our regions natural air conditioning during your visit. It is also well known for Australia’s widest waterfall, the Millstream Falls and it’s close proximity to Tully Gorge Lookout, Koombooloomba Dam and the extensive network of ‘Misty Mountains’ Walking Trails within the Wooroonooran National Park.

The visitor centre has displays depicting the history and natural environment of the wet tropical rainforests around Ravenshoe. Forestry was the primary industry in Ravenshoe up until 1988 and a part of the display provides a very local perspective on the events that occurred during the transition from State Forestry to World Heritage Area declaration in 1988.

The Centre also adjoins the Nganyaji Interpretive Centre, which is an exceptional educational showcase of the rich indigenous culture of the local Jirrbal people.

It is the only Visitor Centre in the region to be open 365 days of the year!
