The Atherton Tablelands area is a literal smorgasbord of fabulous food options from roadside stalls to first class cafes.
*Pick up some goodies at a country town market – they are dotted all over the region on a Saturday or Sunday. You know they will be good – you will probably have had a yarn with the grower or maker.

*Roadside stalls are set up all over the Atherton Tablelands and what could be fresher than the farm gate. Anything from mangoes to pumpkins can be bought, depending on the season.
*Try the local dairy products – the cheese, ice cream and yoghurt from dairy farm cafes are superb and you will know their provenance as you sit in the midst of rolling green dairy country.
*Kuranda markets have an array of cuisines from all around the world. There are lots of great breakfast and lunch choices for both dining in and taking away for a picnic or self-catering at your accommodation.

*Most of the smaller supermarkets and deli’s on the Atherton Tablelands stock locally grown/made food so go and have a chat and see what is available.
*If you like coffee or tea… both are grown on the Atherton Tablelands. Tea and coffee plantations are open to the public and you can buy a local blend or enjoy a cuppa on the spot. There are also scores of good cafes, many serving locally grown coffee, to try out.

*Take a tour and explore the wealth of food and beverages grown and created on this amazing plateau. From tropical fruits to smoked meats to sweets and jams to ingenious use of native herbs and spices, the tours take you to foodie heaven. There are also locally made wine and spirits to toast the Atherton Tablelands’ fertility.
*Try morning or afternoon tea at a tea house. There are several on the Atherton Tablelands including the Falls Teahouse and the Lake Barrine Teahouse. Treat yourself to some scones and a good brew, relax and enjoy the view.
